9 of the Best Party Schools on the East Coast

If you’re still having trouble deciding where to go to school in the fall, and you’re looking for a tie-breaker, here’s a list of the ten best party schools on the East Coast. The recommendations have been compiled from a number of different sources. The list is in alphabetical order. No matter which of these schools you choose, you’re sure to have a good time!

Columbia University: New York, New York. How could you possibly NOT have a great time in the City That Never Sleeps? The nightlife is outstanding, especially if you’re primed for a New York City experience. There’s nothing quite like a party in NYC!

East Carolina University: The College Prowler gives ECU an A- for its nightlife and party scene. If you’re in the Tarheel State, ECU edges out North Carolina and NC State in terms of having fun. You’ll find a lot of restaurants and clubs, local favorite brews, a ton of Wednesday-Saturday options and friends aplenty here. What more could you possibly need?
James Madison University: You won’t go wrong if you’re looking for a party at James Madison University. Famous for its house and apartment parties, you know you’re going to have a good time in any town that has a Bourbon Street! At a JMU party, no one is ever a stranger, and everyone’s invited!

Penn State University: This campus is all A’s when it comes to having a great time. Penn State made both the A-list of the Princeton Review and Playboy Magazine’s Ten Best Party Schools for 2011. Penn State is a perennial party favorite. After all, what’s not to like about a school that has a regular 9:00 PM Bar Tour Radio Show and a companion iPhone app?


University of Central Florida: You can’t possibly waste the Florida atmosphere at the University of Central Florida on books and studies. You’ll find plenty of things to do in Orlando at night and on the weekends. UCF definitely holds its own against the other Florida schools when it comes to parties.

University of Delaware: Party on is the watchword at the University of Delaware. You can find non-stop parties, whether you’re in the dorms, the frats or out onthe town. There’s a whole lot to like about UD when it comes to the party scene.

University of Florida: Why settle for a few days of spring break when you can enjoy spring break all year long? The University of Florida – Gainesville has a sterling reputation as a party school, and is always at the top of its game. After your long day at cosmetology school, hit Midtown or Downtown early and often, because you’re sure to find something that captures your attention.

University of Georgia: If you like music, crowds and lots of bodies, then the University of Georgia is for you! Take advantage of the opportunity to experience a party at UGA and you’ll see why they make so much noise about Southern hospitality. You’ll find restaurants, clubs, bars, and shows. No matter where you go, you’ll have a great time!

University of New Hampshire: Built for students who love to party, the University of New Hampshire can hold its own against the best of the best. You’ll find a non-stop party that starts on Thursday night and keeps on going. If you want the real deal, check out the parties on Frat Row; they’ll give Animal House a whole new meaning! You’ll also find plenty of clubs with live music and dancing. There’s never a dull moment at UNH!

West Virginia University: Top notch is the rating that WVU gets for its party scene. Whether you want to find your fun at casual house parties, or you prefer the club scene, WVU has it all. Check out the Grant Street area for the best house parties WVU has to offer. If you’re into clubs, you’ll find everything you need on High Street. You’ll also find a lot of great, university-sponsored events that will appeal to any Mountaineer!
