One of the reasons a lot of people have avoided getting elective surgery done is the simple fact that cosmetic procedures like cheek implants or rhinoplasty are invasive and seem dangerous and scary to some. The rise, then, in popularity of non-invasive methods, such as an eye lift, is really no surprise. It stands to reason that when you remove the invasive element, cosmetic surgery stops being so frightening to those who are wary of the risks involved with more traditional methods. Here are five reasons non-invasive forms of surgery are taking off.
1. Cost
The fact alone that non-invasive surgery is a safer, quicker procedure that doesn’t require general anesthesia helps to account for a much lower cost. A lot of the cost of more invasive techniques has to do with safety precautions, insurance and risk more so than the operation itself.
2. Recovery and downtime
When you have a non-invasive procedure done, you typically heal faster with fewer after-effects like swelling. Gone is the visual of a patient in a swathe of bandages recovering for weeks at a time. With non-invasive methods, you might even be back to work the very next day.
3. Less scarring
Because non-invasive surgery doesn’t involve any major incisions, implants or extractions, it leaves fewer, smaller and less noticeable scars. Many procedures might leave you with absolutely no visible marks whatsoever. Laser surgery makes this possible by allowing doctors to do their work without a scalpel.
4. Painlessness
While plastic surgery is typically associated with some discomfort, non-invasive surgery allows you to sidestep a lot of the aches and pain that can accompany more in-depth recovery. The minimally invasive techniques used in this type of surgery typically leave you feeling like yourself again in just a few days. Whatever soreness you may experience with a simple eye lift, for instance, should fade much more quickly than having the same procedure done the traditional way.
5. Safety
A big issue with plastic surgery is safety. As mentioned above, surgery can be a little scary. Newer techniques and technology mean less stress on your body. While it’s not 100 percent guaranteed nothing will go wrong, there’s far less risk with non-invasive surgery.
These five reasons aren’t the only ones to consider when weighing the pros and cons of non-invasive surgery versus traditional procedures, but they’re something to think about. Cosmetic
