Top 6 Reasons You Need an Online Data Center

LaptopsWith online data storage becoming increasingly stable, more businesses are choosing to store their information offsite. Because remote data storage is a relatively new concept, however, many businesses have yet to switch over due to a lack of familiarity with its benefits. Here are six reasons why you may want to start using online data storage for your business.

1) Increased Productivity

Storing all your company’s data on workplace PCs takes up significant computing power. Keeping information on remote data servers, instead, will free up massive space on your company computers, letting workers get more done in less time. In addition, employees will be able to work more easily from other locations because remote online storage can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection.

2) Fewer Managerial Responsibilities

Managing any workplace requires serious time and energy; having to also take care of an overloaded computer network can make things even more hectic. By keeping data backed up on remote online servers, you won’t have to worry about loss of data and many other IT issues. Data center facilities have their own technical staff carefully guarding your data at all times, letting you concentrate on the big picture instead.

3) Better for the Environment

Keeping tons of printed documents or computer servers onsite uses more environmental resources than storing your data on a remote data server. With society’s growing concerns about the effects of daily choices on global warming and the environment, using remote data storage is just one more way to do our part in helping to save the planet.

Lightning4) Protection from Disasters

Keeping your company’s most important information onsite is a potentially huge liability. If your onsite data servers are destroyed, insurance may replace the equipment. Unfortunately, the information therein may be gone forever if your business is ravaged by a fire, flood, tornado or earthquake. Taking advantage of data center solutions better ensures that your data will be safe from such disasters. If a natural disaster does strike your locale, it will probably not also affect your data center, which may be hundreds or even thousands of miles away.

5) Improved Security

Keeping important data onsite leaves your business vulnerable to hackers or social engineering attacks. Data centers, by contrast, have large security teams constantly devoted to protecting your electronic information from electronic attacks. Data transfers to these servers are also secure, usually including compression and encryption in the process.

6) Less Money Spent on Utilities

Computers can cost significant money to run, particularly if you are powering a large number of company servers at all times. Businesses frequently save money by instead opting for the services of an online data storage company.

Many small and medium-sized businesses can benefit from the convenience and affordability of online information storage services. As this technology continues to evolve, even more advantages are surely going to emerge for businesses with constantly growing data storage needs.

  1. Good post… many service providers came up with online storage with many features like online sharing, backup etc.. Though some charge for it some are for free. In the above I find protection from disaster is the most important as it avoids the risk of loss of data
